Adventurers Wanted for Tall Ship Voyages
The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) owns and operates the majestic tall ships, Lord Nelson and Tenacious, specially designed and built to enable able-bodied and disabled people to sail side by side as equals, learning new skills, forging great friendships and meeting new challenges.
The JST has received a generous donation from the Barcapel Foundation for bursary funding for 9 people, preferably from Scotland, to experience a tall ship voyage. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage and can be used by a young person (aged 16-25) who wishes to take part in the Leadership@Sea Scheme. Priority areas of interest for funding from the Foundation include health and youth.

The JST has received a generous donation from the Christina Aitchison Trust for bursary funding for one young person from North-East or South-West England, aged 16-25 years old, to experience a tall ship voyage. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage and can be used by a young person who wishes to take part in the Leadership@Sea Scheme.

The JST has received a generous donation from the John Parkhouse Trust for bursary funding for 2 people, preferably from the Gloucestershire area, to experience a tall ship voyage. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage.

The JST has received a generous donation from the VEC Acorn Trust for bursary funding for 3 young people aged 16-25 years old. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage and can be used by a young person who wishes to take part in the Leadership @ Sea Scheme. The trust’s grant making policy is to aid under privileged and deprived young people, especially in the Hampshire area (particularly from the New Forest and south west Hampshire).

The JST has received a generous donation from the JN Derbyshire Trust for bursary funding for 5 people, preferably from the Nottinghamshire area, to experience a tall ship voyage. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage. The trust’s objectives include the general promotion of health, the development of physical improvement and the advancement of education.

Former rugby international and Tigers’ player Dean Richards and a team of fund-raisers are gearing up to cycle 300 miles to help a group of young disabled people from Leicestershire take part in a tall ship sailing adventure.

Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage. The trust’s objectives include the relief of sickness and the advancement of health.
