Friday..after much attention from onlookers in Poole motored out to Swanage and anchored for the night. Voyage crew enjoyed the bar and a calm night in bunks before Saturday.

After a night of being dangerously close to being thrown out of our bunks, we received an early wake up call ready for our 8-12:30 watch. An entertaining breakfast that was more like gymnastics than a meal, as we tried to stay upright whilst balancing cereal.

Day 3: Started off the day with a healthy supply of pancakes for breakfast. The next duty of the day was to carry out assisted climbs and wheelies aloft, where two of the crew’s wheelchair users, John and Janet took on the task of making it up to the first platform on the forward mast.

Day 2: Unfortunately clear skies weren’t to last and the night watch received a thorough soaking. Whilst some were feeling abit green, most were treated to a full-English and the rain didn’t last long.

Day 1: The crew boarded around 1pm, warmly welcomed by their watch leaders. After finding our bunks and being kitted up with wellies and extreme wet-weather gear we all gathered in the lower mess for the essential safety brief.

Sunday in Bruges Hello there , we are alongside in Bruges as planned and the ship is very quiet as the majority of crew have wandered ashore. We arrived a little later than planned , having had to “ hover “ at the locks to let freight ships out.

Welcome to Amsterdam We arrived in Amsterdam at around 16:00 hours yesterday, after a lovely ride up the canal from Ijmuiden. We had lunch on deck and watched from the ship as we headed up the North Sea canal.

We are alongside in Aberdeen and planning to leave around 19.00 tonight. The crew this voyage are from Ireland, UK, Belgium, Netherlands , and France, all aged between 16 and 24, and part of a European Sail Training voyage.
