Thomas Gunn Navigation Services has donated a complete set of world routing charts to enable the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) to voyage around the globe for the first time, creating an unprecedented opportunity for physically disabled people to explore the world from the decks of a square-rigged sailing ship.

“You are dream makers” is how Joel reacted when he was first told that he could join Lord Nelson on a voyage to the Canaries. A group of ex-pats from a variety of nations living on the island of Madeira have raised enough funds to send a young man with Freidrich’s Ataxia and his brother as a buddy on a voyage from Lisbon to the Canaries.

Thomas Hart and his father plus the help of two others undertook a sponsored rock climb to 600ft on 19th June to raise funds for JST. Thomas has both autism and epilepsy and had never climbed more that 100ft before.

Last August Graham Middleton went on a day sail on Tenacious to celebrate his 60th birthday. Graham is a keen dinghy sailor with a club in Derbyshire but had never experienced sea sailing before. He is also totally blind.
