Great sailing continues, with an average of 8 knots, with exciting bursts of 9 to 10! the rocking and rolling, aka 24hr aerobic class, is draining of energy, so today is officially a quiet rest day. However, one member of our watch is still bouncing about Zebedee-style.Safety line s are rigged and lounging/sunbathing on deck is no longer an option.

Our second middle watch started with a beautiful clear starstudded sky, though this watch is not very au fait with them: Tony saw some shooting stars, but little else through the night, and we were all glad to get into bed at 0400, cold and tired.

Once again, today we are motoring as the wind is still somewhat north-easterly but seems to be veering towards the East (we may as well hope, i guess!) and the swell is noticeably larger than what we have been having.

As we get closer to the Azores the weather is getting much colder with few left on deck wearing shorts, however the odd BM can be seen fighting the elements in T-shirt and thongs!

Today has brought the first of the trip'0s sunshine, although the 20 knots of wind is still keeping us in jumpers and coats (apart from Marco our Chief Engineer who braved the chill and tried to catch some rays on his back!) Crazy fellow if you ask me!

Day Four of Maintenance… so the happy band of volunteers continue to battle on and try and get Nellie ready for her trip home and to make sure she looks her best for her big birthday party on the 16th April. Mike and his team have been chipping, hammering and needle gunning every bit of paint from the port side bulwark.
