We woke up at around 7.30 AM ready for breakfast at 8 AM. Hazel our watch leader told us our watch started at 8 30 AM. This involved taking the helm, doing the log and watching for hazards.

We embarked on our short voyage. We motored out from Southampton docks at 5 PM and headed for Yarmouth in the Isle of Wight, where we anchored late evening.

At 0730 we called all hands to clew up sail just a few miles off Sandown on the Isle of Wight.

All aboard Tenacious at 1pm, stowed bags and belongings in lockers and amassed in lower mess to collect wet weather gear and harnesses and for safety briefing and introductions to crew.

We had a bit of excitement during the night swinging on our anchor, which held rather well in quite strong winds, we then had to make the spectacular approach up the Solent into Southampton.

The new voyage crew were all well on time yesterday apart from poor Clive, a regular sailor, who spent a while on a motorway shoulder awaiting a breakdown truck, It was good to welcome many crew back again, Tilly, Tony, Dave from the Faroes, Peter from Wales.. and plenty of new faces too.
