Santa Catalina, Las Palmas, Grand Canaria. We are alongside safely, with 1852 nautical miles notched up in our log books. The voyage chart that Ali 2nd Mate created, was auctioned on deck while we enjoyed a sundown punch, last evening, and we were happy to see it go home with James, who has been great fun on the voyage. Like many others he is into double figures for voyages now, and is planning a Tallships Race one next.

We had some lovely, gentle sailing in the sunshine all this week, much more to everyone's liking than the nasty, cold stuff we were doing a couple of weeks ago! We sighted Lanzarote's mountain peaks late Wednesday afternoon and came in alongside the old port in Arrecife on Thursday, just in time for a late lunch.

As we float around off Lanzarote, waiting for one of Grahams marvellous breakfasts to get us going for the day …… which will include bracing the yards, a harbour stow, and good ol’ happy hour ( they’ll make a sailor of me yet ! ) I’m taking time to reflect on our days since Cascais.

Greetings all ashore from the TNS328 crew. We have come alongside, for the first time since we left Southampton, and are in Cascais. We are by far the biggest vessel in the marina, and should boost the tourist trade by 98% atleast !

The Gales encountered yesterday have now ceased with the wind having shifted from the South West and forecast to veer from the West then from the North. A much better direction for sailing South!

A fantastic sunny start to the day, blue skies and T-shirts weather. Everyone appears rested this morning, and we enjoyed the full English breakfast before being briefed on the day ahead. We are aiming to leave the berth at 11am, and motor sail along the channel until the wind becomes more favourable this evening, when we will hopefully get sailing.

There is a spooky air about the ship today , leering pumpkin lanterns, bats and ghosts are adorning the lower mess and a lot of strangers have arrived .. oh yes ! The new voyage crew !!
