The first thing we discovered whilst waiting at the ferry port was the meaning of LD Lines. LD= late departure. Once the formalities over and the cabin located, I lay in the bunk thinking ‘great, over the generator – jus like on Tenacious!’

Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Branch has a storming first 6 months

In recent years, the old East Yorkshire branch had fallen dormant, although a number of people were doing various activities themselves. Early in 2011, and inspired by Nellie’s forthcoming visits to Whitby and Hull, a new Yorkshire and Lincolnshire branch was set up.

Bumper harvest from the Autumn Pumpkin Festival and beyond…..

After the 2010 bumper harvest from the Autumn Pumpkin Festival, Southampton JST volunteer support group set about producing their 14th festival traditionally held on the second Saturday in October, hoping to keep it on an even keel and continuing the value for money, high quality event that the visitors have grown to expect.

JST founder Christopher Rudd joined Lord Nelson for her anniversary on 17th October 2011.Lord Nelson welcomed on board around 80 other people, many of whom had been involved with the conception and realisation of the vessel.

Lord Nelson’s 25th anniversary race – final report From 10th – 16th October, Jubilee Sailing Trust ships Lord Nelson and Tenacious took part in their first ever race. The event was held especially to mark the 25th anniversary of Lord Nelson’s launch and maiden voyage.

Race Leg 2 Cherbourg - Solent The race start was at 1400 - 1415 hrs (BST) just off the port of Cherbourg. Lord Nelson crossed the start line at 1401hrs. Tenacious crossed at 1409hrs.

Race timings have finished early due to the weather. From early this afternoon it was apparent that there was not enough time to sail to another waypoint and return in time for the finish time tomorrow morning.

Rosemary Mudie starts the Race

We are delighted to report that the race between Lord Nelson and Tenacious was kindly started by Rosemary Mudie. Rosemary was the first person to receive a JST medal and was instrumental in obtaining the first major grant that helped get the Trust going.

Master and Commander star will help celebrate Lord Nelson’s 25th Anniversary

On Tuesday 11 October 2011, Robert Pugh, who starred alongside Russell Crowe in Master and Commander, will be setting off on the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s tall ship Tenacious, in her first ever race against the Trust’s senior tall ship, Lord Nelson.
