Eventually arrived in Dun Laoghiare after waiting at anchor for the gale to let up. The word Guinness was frequently mentioned by many thirsty seamen. A sing song in the bar kept us occupied. Nellie slipped gently onto the pontoon, in a superb sideways ferry glide.

A great Friday night was spent on shore sampling Guiness in various pubs in Dunleary! I personally decided it was time to leave when we started singing Swing Low Sweet Chariot with a local jamming session!

We joined Lord Nelson as new crew and started to get to know each other and working in our watches. We departed from Greenock during late afternoon and under motor made for Holy Lock for an overnight anchor.
