04/11/12 - Tenacious
Dated: 05/11/2012
4/11/12 We sailed from South Ireland to West Wales. It was really exciting because of the weather. It was really windy so we picked up a lot of speed, which tilted the boat in such an angle that one side of the boat went underwater. We all had to hang on and make sure we never slipped on the hail stones. It broke most of the glasses in the lower mess which made it more daring. The food was brilliant and filling. We would like wish Graham the cook all the best as this was his last trip. Benjamin Stone
Graham and Mick, 2nd Engineer, are leaving us in two weeks time, which will be a big loss to the ship, but fun for them and their families. Graham is busy making sure that the stores are in for maintenance, and we believe that he’s making plenty of freezer dinners for when he’s gone…..gammon and egg, gammon and pineapple, boiled gammon, baked gammon… only joking, he will be missed!
After all the excitement yesterday(force 8-9 squall, jib blowing, pilot having to take a second attempt at boarding..) we are quiet, and the ship is really tidy – well done 358 crew , you did an amazing last Happy Hour after a late night.
Tenacious will be going into dry dock on Wednesday, and some stalwart maintainers are here already, although if this rain continues the dock will not be very dry . We still could find work for more people, so if you are twiddling your thumbs give the office a ring, and come and join the workers!
