Back to the ship update blog
07/02/13 - Tenacious
Dated: 08/02/2013
We left the overnight anchorage at 0700, yesterday and motored the 6 miles
back to Grand Harbour Valletta. We entered harbour and under the command of
Captain John who reversed Tenacious into our berth between a line of mooring
bouys and two large supper yachts moored end to which made for an
interesting manoeuvre! We tied alongside at 10.00. It was then hands aloft to
harbour stow the sails. After lunch we were free to go ashore and explore
Valletta which has a lot of history and interesting buildings.
In the evening we enjoyed an end of voyage meal together in a local wine
bar, some returning later than others!
Today, Thursday, we were woken at 0700 to do the final Happy Hour to leave
the ship clean & ready for the next voyage which commences tomorrow. Captain
John gave the final debrief and thanks were expressed all round for a very
enjoyable and happy voyage with most people saying that they will be back to
sail again with the JST. We have been lucky to have had sun, flat seas and
good sailing breezes (apart from the first night's sail which was windy with
rougher seas) which all contributed to a great voyage.
