Forward Starboard reporting. The long awaited wind shift has come and gone, accompanied by squally showers, giving wet & soggy knickers & trousers which are now drying on our bodies. We are now heading towards Mauritius instead of Australia! Surprisingly, it is much harder.on the helm in light winds because it has a mind of its own.
Captain Jack (aka Nick) is back on watch having escaped from galley duty. We’re still being fed well but sadly breakfast wasn’t in bed for all of the mothers this morning, despite it being Mothering Sunday. Captain Barbara & Joyce held a morning service this am on deck but under cover because the heavens suddenly shed their wetness.
We are currently being tracked by at least 8 albatross of 3 different sorts, including an enormous mainly white one with yellow beak.
