Joining day in Palma Mallorca must have had an added attraction leaving minus degree temperatures and snow behind in the UK. The flights out had some delay but most voyage crew got away from the



airports without too much trouble.







Soon the ship was buzzing with new crew settling into their allotted bunks.Captain on his welcome speech told the crew that the wind looked favourable for a departure at 14:00 hours on the 20th January.







A journey of 350 miles would take the ship to the South end of Sardinia and also near the island of Cabrera. The winds would be on the quarter 5 to 6 knots which would give some good sailing.
