23/01/13 - Lord Nelson
Dated: 23/01/2013
Motoring along at extra full, steering 160 towards an Island called Tristan Du Cuhna. we are due there in the next few hours - not to land, not to stay but to buy postcards and get our Passports stamped and to say a sad farewell to a crew member.
Today murder still occurring on the Lord Nelson, weather now more British in its character (ok not snowing as UK - but below 20C) rain overnight and this morning allowing many to practice sea stows.
Yesterday afternoon Cate (FS) gave an amazingly animated 'practical' and 'working' demonstration of the origins of knots and logs. seemed to involve Seb rolling and unrolling green string for most of the day and night.
Kirsten (BM) joined our watch last night - leading to lively and topical discussions!!
Albatrosses seem to like Nellie and keep coming up to say hello.
This mornings aft port meeting in a local phone box was disrupted by the arrival of an Antipodeans refugee who had "lost her watch"!
Would the Fwd S/B watch leader please collect her from the "Lost and found" department, or do we have to stick a Tristan du Cuhna stamp on her and send her via Cape Town.
Still somewhere in the Southern hemisphere,
Currently near the fabled island where we will remain footless.
