Back to the ship update blog
27/11/12 - Lord Nelson
Dated: 28/11/2012
Hello everybody, I know that this is a British ship but now it is finally time for some Polish: Czesc Mamusiu, koniec tej angielskiej dominacji wszystko spoko, plyniemy do Recife i jutro pewnie bedziemy. Slonko swieci, opalanie idzie pelna para, wszystkie zagle postawione. caluje mocno wszystkich xxx Agata. Hi folks, that's a message from our Polish watch member but polish is also appropriate just now as Ali is busy brightening up all the brass on the bridge as I write this. She has made the discovery that dry Brasso doesn't work but her dedication is now paying off, and she looks great in the blue rubber gloves. Our watch has now grown to eight with the addition of Brazilian Bruno who flew in to join the ship in Fernando de Noronha and who will help us negotiate our arrival in Recife. We are already thinking about plans for Rio and have the possibility of spending an evening with the Samba group who performed in the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games. Unfortunately, Bruno has declined our enthusiastic invitation to provide Samba classes on deck! We are sailing along under full sail, averaging some 6 knots, and enjoying meals on deck in the sunshine and the endless sight of a genuinely deep blue sea. The Masked Boobies continue to entertain us with their precision diving but we seem to have left the Tropic and Frigate Birds behind on Noronha. After the watch there's to be an inter-watch pin-rail competition: then we'll find out who really knows the ropes! That's all for now from the Forward Port watch: Kate, Agata, Ali, Bruno, David, Nev, Nick and Tom
