Here we are sitting in lovely sunshine in Cherbourg. The highlight today was taking Dylan and Roma aloft in their wheelchairs to the first platform. They received a huge round of applause from all the crew. Ceri who is usually in a wheelchair then climbed to the first platform, under the guidance of Ben, which was an amazing achievement for her. She had the biggest smile we have seen to date on her face. Everyone was so impressed by them all.

In the glorious sunny evening the Irish girls climbed aloft to the first platform and serenaded the harbour with their joyful singing. It was a good ending of a busy day to hear them all having a lovely time.

Today we went into Cherbourg and did some shopping around the town, and went to the museum next to the quays. We then climbed onto the bowsprit for a while. In the evening we climbed up the mast and then played jenga in the lower mess!! Roisin Hackett.

After we helped with the assisted climbs, we went into Cherbourg and got some more food for the voyage and then went back to the boat to chillax. We sunbathed at the back of the bridge in peace and sang High School Musical songs. It was lovely and we got a lovely colour. Lots of Love, Maedbh and Denoo xoxoxoxoox

Aisling, Grace and I went out on the rib as Aisling wasn’t able to climb. We went around the port and it was great fun! I was laughing at Grace getting soaked until I did. We were all drenched! We then went into the port and looked at all the other boats and then headed back in, it was class!! Michelle Smyth x x x x

We leave Cherbourg tomorrow morning heading to Rouen .Further update after arrival. To all you mum’s of the girls – how untidy can a girl be??
