Day 3

Our first watch turned out to be the 8-12 at night and we were rewarded with a spectacular moon rise, clear skies, a favourable wind and lots of sails set. For some, the motion of the ship has not been too pleasant but others have enjoyed the good sunbathing weather today. Our light winds have now disappeared altogether and we have had to put on the engines and are motoring between oil rigs, keenly looking out for Mount Taranaki to the east. All are beginning to get the hang of the ship’s routine, including our first Happy Hour – not in the bar but cleaning the ship!

Forward starboard, Lynda, Kim, Sophie,Daniel, Steph, Jazza and Tanja
