Day 25

Stardate 2014:01:07

What a difference 24 hours can make! From running through grey menacing seas on a beam reach to avoid the worst of the depression following us (and making good speeds too, I might add) to broad reaching across a glorious blue ocean in full sun – fair lifts the spirits!

Brave acts were committed on the main t’gallant last night, but not by team Nat – our job was to keep her on course through the squalls as the main front passed over us and we’re really proud to have received praise for our efforts.

Milestones in the past 24 hours: we’ve passed 2000nm since Auckland and Cookie Dave celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary – the key to a long and happy marriage? Send one partner to sea for extended periods!

Cookie Dave and Cook’s Asses Tracey and Margaret – secret cake making in the galley!

Meanwhile the captain sneakily lured Fiona to her death with promises of more sewing (don’t ask), so Natalie – our illustrious leader – is the only one of our watch still alive.

RIP Dave C, Mike R, Colin T, Dick, Meg, Sweeney and Fiona
