We were counted out and all counted back in, no one missing after a hike to the best penguin rookery on East Falkland at Bertha’s Beach. The hike was a fair distance rewarded with Gentoo Penguins and dolphins surfing the breaking waves. A lovely day was had by all. Later we gave guided tours of the ship to local residents and forces personnel and their families, with a reciprocal tour of HMS Clyde. In the evening we had opportunity to go to Mount Pleasant base to play bowls and visit the NAAFI and bars, transport was gratefully provided by the military. Thank you for the hospitality. We all returned safely ready for tomorrow’s sail to Port Stanley.
