We are delighted to announce that SV Tenacious will be arriving in Wellington, New Zealand, on the 23rd May 2017 as part of a three-month programme in the country. The arrival of SV Tenacious coincides with the establishment of The Jubilee Sailing Trust as a charity in New Zealand to help promote our mission of social inclusion, integration and diversity within the local community.
The Jubilee Sailing Trusts first visited New Zealand during STS Lord Nelson’s historic Sail the World programme. Since then we have established JST Australia, announced our first ever season in Canada and have had the honour of being accredited by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. These are all opportunities that have helped us spread the JST mission further and to demonstrate the power of mixed ability teams to people all over the world.
As a strong sailing nation, and with forward thinking social policies, New Zealand represents a tremendous opportunity for the Jubilee Sailing Trust and a fitting location for the next step in our international development.
Tenacious will be arriving in the capital of New Zealand after her crossing “The Ditch” from Australia for the very first time. The ship will then run a programme that covers some of the most beautiful and pristine waters in the world, with an abundance of exotic marine life and breath-taking natural beauty, including The Hauraki Gulf, The Bay of Plenty and The Bay of Islands.
Take the chance to be part of this epic adventure, sailing on the world’s largest operational wooden ship as part of a very special crew of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
