On Thursday after anchoring of Lanzarote, in beautiful weather, all the voyage crew abandoned ship. The crew helped hoist all our wheelchair users into the boats and ferried us across to Playa Blanca marina.
We all enjoyed a walk along the prom in hot sunshine and the visit ashore ended with a delicious seafood lunch overlooking the marina, with the Lord Nelson anchored in the background. That evening, the activities included a lovely on deck buffet provided by Ali and Sophie, and a few glasses of punch.
The next day we got up for breakfast on deck. Refuelled we sailed of the anchor, heading back to Gran Canaria with the sun shining and the winds favourable. Our watch Bill’s watch (KAT, Claire, Sean, Fran, Jeremy, Flip Pat and Daisy) took charge of the bridge that afternoon and enjoyed a tea and sweet party on the bridge, whilst Daisy and Flip our wheelchair users helmed the ship. Although the fish were scarce on Fred’s fishing line we were lucky enough to spot a couple of dolphins who had a quick swim in our wake.
