Tenacious and Lord Nelson give a unique perspective on any destination, so whether you are sailing
near to home or further afield you will enjoy incredible views and stunning scenary. We spend the summer months sailing around the UK and Ireland, using southern ports as a springboard to visit our European neighbours the Netherlands, France and Belgium and are regular visitors to the Channel Islands. Summer also sees us take part in Sail Training International's Tall Ships' Races which mix the adrenaline of racing with a carnival atmosphere back in the host ports.
In winter we escape to warmer climes. We base ourselves in Gran Canaria giving us the Canary Islands to explore in warm sunshine, visiting places off the tourist track . If you join us for Christmas and New Year you will be treated to an incredible celebration on board with fabulous fireworks and a real fiesta spirit.
Please note that because, as sailing vessels, we are dictated to by the wind and weather, we cannot guarantee that you will visit all the places that we mention below in any given voyage in that particular region.
The UK and Ireland

Some of the most beautiful parts of Britain and Ireland are best enjoyed by navigating the coastline where the variety and beauty of it can be truly appreciated. The UK is blessed with some of the best sailing in the world and a wealth of wildlife - you may even see dolphins! We sail between ports in Ireland and the UK visiting the famous Dublin and Belfast Maritime festivals, the dramatic and picturesque scenary of the Scottish Islands, visiting the stunning coastal town of Oban and sailing around the north of Scotland to Aberdeen. What ever voyage you choose in this region you will experience some of the most beautiful landscapes it is possible to see.
Southern England and mainland Europe

Sailing in the English Channel, the North Sea and the Celtic Sea, voyages start and finish from ports in the south of England, the Channel Islands and France. You will get to savour some of England's famous coast line, perhaps stopping at Chatham in Kent or Falmouth in Cornwall. You might cross the Channel and sail up the Seine to the famous historical city of Rouen or visit Bruges. Staying in the UK, there is nothing quite like sailing up the Thames to London's financial heart, Canary Wharf., possibly with the extra bonus of sailing through Tower Bridge. Whatever voyage you choose in this region you will experience some wonderful sailing and perhaps see familiar places in a whole new light.
The Canary Islands
Sailing aboard Tenacious gives you a unique opportunity to take in the beauty of these remarkable islands from
the sea. The islands are a treasure trove of dramatic volcanic features,

stunning scenary, diverse wildlife and tiny unspoilt fishing villages, yet each has its own identity. Surrounded by the Atlantic ocean and flanked on one side by the African continent the islands are ideally positioned for some fantastic winds ensuring plenty of good sailing year-round.
Our voyages start and finish in the sheltered harbour of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, and depending on the wind direction and length of voyage you will visit one or more of the other islands that make up the Canaries. This could be following in Christopher Columbus' footsteps, stopping in Gomera, as he did for wine and water in 1492, or La Palma for the traditional Flour Festival. Maybe you will go to Fuerteventura, the oldest and second largest island in the Canaries whose waters are host to whales, dolphins, marlin and turtles.
The Tall Ships' Races
Sail Training International's Tall Ships' Races are an incredible event to be a part of. The race legs require a

concerted effort from the whole crew as you race day and night for up to 12 days against 50 or more other vessels, but the atmosphere back in port is unsurpassable. Every host port makes a huge effort to entertain, reward and welcome all the ships' crews making the entire event an experience of a lifetime. You can find out more about the Tall Ships Races from
Sail Training International. 2010 will see the races return to the UK having travelled from Antwerp (Belgium) to Aalborg (Denmark) and then onto Kristiansand (Norway). The race this year will end in Hartlepool, offering you the chance to sail Tenacious back into the UK.
You don't have to undertake the rigors of racing to enjoy the festival atmosphere in port. In 2010 we will also sail between Lavrion (Greece) and Antwerp, to join the fleet for the start of the races, and from Hartlepool to London straight after the races - both voyages letting you experience the excitement and spectacle of the event without the additional challenge of racing.
