Are you a young seafarer looking for an exciting new challenge? As part of our ongoing partnership with Trinity House, we’re on the hunt for young, ambitious and driven individuals with a passion for the marine industry to join us a Trainee Officer. This exciting new programme is supported by Trinity House, one of the most prestigious organisations in the industry.
Our ship operations manager Andy Spark says:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for any young mariner looking for an exciting career in the marine industry. This unique programme will allow our trainees to experience modern Merchant Navy training, but at the same time learn the traditional skills that sailing a ship needs – all whilst travelling the world and getting paid. After a successful launch in 2015, we’re excited to recruit our next Trainee Officer in the spring of 2016. Once again we’re incredibly grateful for Trinity House’s generosity in funding the scheme.”
This unique opportunity will give aspiring mariners the chance to gain a highly credible qualification with an industry leading organisation. Our trainee officers will embark on an exciting and varied 3 year Foundation Degree in Marine Operations that combines theory based learning with hands on training. Highlights include:
- Spending up to 6-8 weeks on-board one of our unique tall ships
- Supporting exciting initiatives at sea and on-shore
- The chance to get involved in various promotional and marketing work with the Jubilee Sailing Trust
- The possibility of future work with the Jubilee Sailing Trust once qualified
This unique opportunity is perfect for anyone looking to embark on a seafaring career. You’ll get the chance to explore the world on a never-to-forget adventure, and do things you never thought possible. This rare experience will help you to strengthen your interpersonal and communication skills as you’ll be meeting and working with people from all over the world, of all backgrounds and levels of physical ability. What’s more, you’ll be embarking on this life-changing adventure all whilst getting paid! What more could you ask for?
