40 days on Tenacious From:£4,720 *Africa - TNS504
Place: Port Stanley (Falkland Islands)
Place: Cape Town (South Africa)
A once in a lifetime opportunity to sail the South Atlantic!
You could join the JST aboard our groundbreaking tall ship Tenacious, the world’s largest operating timber hulled vessel, for a ‘bucket list’ adventure!
After a couple of days touring Port Stanley and training for the voyage, Tenacious will depart for the Southern Atlantic Ocean’s often challenging seas and head for South Georgia. If visiting this extraordinary sub-Antarctic island wasn’t enough – we’ll be joined on board by world renowned explorer Skip Novak.
Skip will offer his unparalleled expertise and insights into sailing these waters, making it a trip not to miss! You’ll have the unique opportunity to experience South Georgia’s incredible wildlife and stunning rugged scenery and glaciers. The wildlife reserve particularly renowned for its marine birds, seals and the surrounding whales.
After South Georgia, Tenacious will turn towards South Africa with planned stops at Tristan de Cunha, the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world and Simon’s Town before the final destination of Cape Town itself. On arrival, spend time exploring this amazing and vibrant city, taking in sites like Table Mountain and Robben Island.
Book your voyage on Tenacious today and join the crew of this iconic, ground-breaking tall ship. Tenacious is the largest operative wooden hulled ship in the world and turns heads wherever she sails. She was built by 1,500 mixed physical ability volunteers and includes special features not found on other ships (including wheelchair lifts, a speaking compass, and a joystick to enable everyone to helm the ship) which make her fully accessible and fully inclusive for everyone onboard.
Your voyage will be a working adventure holiday and everyone onboard is encouraged and enabled to take a full and active role in crewing the ship (including everything from setting the sails, climbing the mast, helming the ship and lending a hand in the galley). You will be part of a crew that changes lives – integrating between different physical abilities, generations and backgrounds.

As is the case for all Jubilee Sailing Trust voyages, the price you see here is heavily subsidised through continuous fundraising to enable everyone to sail regardless of cost or personal circumstance. The true cost of the voyage is listed below. This is so high because of the essential regulatory, maintenance and safety costs we incur.
Please let us know if you wish to make a donation towards the charity’s wider costs; or contact the fundraising team (+44 (0)23 8042 6868 or firstname.lastname@example.org) to help raise funds for the JST through participation in sponsored challenges or asking friends and family to donate to the charity.
All of our voyage crew spaces are subsidised through our continuous fundraising, however if you would like to pay the full cost for your voyage please refer to the Full Cost price listed below.
Please note: There is no airstrip on South Georgia, so no chance of an airlifted medi-vac. All voyage crew on this trip must be made clearly aware of this fact. It is a requirement of the South Georgia government that all people going to the island are clear on this. There is no formal government support for casualties.
