Let’s start by telling you what our voyages are not.
Don’t think of a JST voyage as a luxury cruise or expect to lie on deck catching rays for hours on end. If you want to be a passenger on your travels and have everything done for you, then we’re probably not for you.
Our pioneering voyages are for those with a sense of adventure. You’ll be part of our voyage crew and will become immersed in an unforgettable sailing experience – whether you’re a novice or experienced sailor.
On board, everyone has a role and is part of a Watch who run the ship (and yes, that includes the night shift) with the support of the ship’s crew. We give everyone real responsibilities that have real consequences. Without our voyage crew, we can’t sail – that’s how crucial you are on board.
In return you’ll experience an amazing camaraderie and be part of a team that recognises potential and every individual’s contribution.
That’s what makes our voyages unique. They give voyage crew a fresh perspective on their own ability, and we see people build confidence and resilience during their time on the ship.
You’ll have down time too and a chance everyday to relax. Whether you’re travelling alone or coming as part of a group, you’ll get to know your fellow voyage crew and will enjoy the comfortable surroundings of Tenacious as your home for the duration of your journey.
At the end of your experience, you’ll come away with new friends and a sense of achievement and self-belief.
That’s why our voyages have been described as life-changing, ever since we first set sail in 1986.

Voyages cost the Jubilee Sailing Trust £249 per person per day, but our fundraising heavily subsidises this cost for all crew members. If you can, please consider making a donation or helping to fundraise towards the full cost of your voyage. This enables us to continue to offer bursaries for those that are disabled and less able to afford such an inclusive adventure afloat.
In order to make our voyages as accessible to everyone, we have bursary funding available for those who may not be able to afford the advertised contributions. Both non-disabled and disabled individuals, from the age of 16 upwards, can apply for funding towards the cost of their selected voyage. Find out more about our bursaries here.
