We’re pleased to launch a made-to-order mask for the hearing impaired, working with a Somerset-based business.
Recognising the needs of a significant number of our supporters and the effect that wearing masks is having on the ability of the hearing impaired and deaf to communicate, our windowed mask will hopefully go some way to alleviate that issue.
Available in three designs (Navy Anchor, Royal and Wine), the 100% cotton mask features a vinyl window and adjustable elastic headbands for maximum comfort (especially with hearing aids) and is subtly JST branded with a small logo label. Two sizes are available.
We’re delighted to be working with Sew Somerset Designs, a small cottage business established by Robyn, herself living with a hereditary hearing deterioration resulting in almost total hearing loss.
Robyn started making scrubs as a volunteer to support the NHS in Somerset during the COVID-19 outbreak. As a result of many requests for face masks, she established her business making fabric masks and experimenting with the clear window masks to find a design that would allow lipreading as well as letting the wearer breathe easily.
Robyn has kindly agreed to create special JST versions that are now available from our shop. We hope you like them!
