It’s all plain sailing on the Isle of Wight this week and the Jubilee Sailing Trust, is playing a key part in a popular annual regatta.

Cowes Week 2022 will run from Saturday 30th July until Friday 5th August, and the JST has been chosen as one of its charity partners, along with Scaramouche Sailing Trust.

The JST, which offers inclusive adventures at sea on board its flagship, Tenacious, will have a stand at the Cowes Regatta Village on Cowes Parade, and visitors can meet the team and find out more about the incredible charity. Kids, and grown-ups alike, can also ‘channel their inner pirate’ in an exciting social media competition, where a number of prizes will be up for grabs.

What’s more, the charity’s tall ship, Tenacious, was moored alongside the Trinity Landing on ‘Charity Monday’, 1st August. Visitors climbed aboard for an exclusive tour, where they walked the decks, sank into the sleeping corners, and guided around the galley, experiencing a small part of what life would be like on the ship while at sea.

Cowes Week has been a staple of the British sporting calendar since 1826. It is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world, and the JST, which has a base in Ocean Village in Southampton, was keen to play its part.

Cowes Week is always a huge event for the region and, as a sailing charity, which is highlighting the benefits of being out at sea, the JST is delighted to have been chosen as one of the regatta’s partners.

We are looking forward to meeting visitors throughout the week and telling them all about the amazing voyages we are offering for all abilities.

The JST offers people of all abilities the opportunity to climb aboard its tall ship Tenacious for an immersive sailing experience and relies on funding from the public. Since its founding in 1978 the Jubilee Sailing Trust has welcomed more than 50,000 people on board.
