As we enter the final 24 hours of our urgent fundraising appeal we would urge everyone to keep donating, spread the word and support us in any way they can.

The charity has been hit hard by the pandemic after losing £1.4 million in crucial income since the start of the pandemic.

The JST applied for a Government Covid Recovery Loan to help but this was declined. This combined with a lack of sailing due to restrictions,  increases in the cost of living and a decrease in income, forced the charity into an  immediate cash flow crisis.

Last Friday, the JST launched an appeal and has since been receiving generous donations from more than 800 people, trusts and foundations, which so far total more than £235,000. We must raise £500,000 by the end of Thursday 14th April and a total of £1.2 million by the end of September 2022.

As we approach 50% of our target, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated so far but please do keep supporting us and spreading the word.

Tenacious is the only tall ship that is fully accessible and designed to be sailed by a mixed ability crew – and sailing Tenacious is key to delivering our mission. If we have to cease our operations it will be a long time before there is a tall ship anywhere in the world that allows disabled and non-disabled people to sail alongside each other.

If you are in a position to donate please do so without delay.
