This summer we’ll be embarking on Lord Dannatt’s Round Britain Challenge; an epic 40 day voyage around the UK with a diverse crews formed of cadets and military veterans.

The event will mark the centenary since the end of WW1, as the STS Lord Nelson will visit each capital city for a series of special memorial events.

Our first stop is Edinburgh, with Nellie berthing at Leith Port – home of HMY Britannia – on 2nd August.

On the 3rd August there will be a special parade at Edinburgh Castle and present the first quarter of a shield that will make a permanent memorial at the Tower of London.

Anyone at Edinburgh Castle is welcomed to watch the events, starting with the Castle’s traditional One o’clock Gun.

Lord Dannatt’s Round Britain Challenge is set the be the UK’s largest WW1 centenary memorial activity. If you’re nearby Edinburgh this weekend, don’t miss out on being part of this special occasion for the JST.
