We were on shore leave in Piriapolis today. The last party to be ferried ashore was met by a large fur seal sunning himself in his favourite spot, which happened to be where we had been landing. After weighing up our options, we decided to leave him enjoying his sun worshipping and found an alternative landing place in the harbour.
A beautiful, warm, sunny day was spent exploring Piriapolis. The town is a pretty sea-side resort which was quite empty as the tourist season is over. The chair lift to the nearest hill still worked and quite a few of the crew took the opportunity to get a great view of the town. In the evening we returned to ship and had another delicious dinner prepared by Derek. Tomorrow we will be heading towards Punta del Este.
