At last, we’re heading out to sea. Leaving a warm sunny Gothenburg behind we motored down the estuary in the company of several other “Tall Ships”, each with their own destination to go to. The “fleet” has now dispersed into the open water. Gothenburg was a quiet, pleasant town, and many enjoyed a stroll round the almost traffic free streets or a wander through the park where a mass yoga session was taking place…….lots of lycra on show. We will shortly be turning to the SW – a call for “bracing stations” is anticipated – and sailing towards our next port of call which is Copenhagen, ETA late afternoon/early evening tomorrow. There is a fresh wind blowing with 20 knots forecast and of course, it’s coming directly from where we want to go. So a night of listening to the mechanical “symphony” of the engines lies ahead. The sky has darkened with grey cloud and promises to be a fresh night on watch.
