LN901 – 07/08/2016 Aft starboard
This morning we set sail from Ilhavios on Portugal’s west coast having spent a lovely couple of days enjoying the town’s hospitality and taking part in various activities that were laid on during the “Sea Festival”. Some went kite surfing over the water some went under for a SCUBA diving session. Zeenah and Chloe had an adventure on a rubber ring towed behind a speedboat – Chloe finding it especially exciting! There was dancing and food and general merriment galore.
There are a few of the crew doing Leadership at Sea and Duke of Edinburgh on board and as part of that they took turns as watch leader – Jamsram and Edu finding out what it’s like to take charge and maintain a happy watch……another challenge among many on such a voyage. Josh, who was on “galley duty”, will get his chance later. The weather is fine at the moment but the wind will be increasing throughout the day so we are trying to make as much progress as possible before the winds from the north arrive. Hopefully they’ll not be as strong as forecast……
