Day 4 & 5 11th June

After a musical send off from Vivocity Singapore, Peter M took the helm while we manoeuvred to an anchorage to clear customs, take on water, fuel and most importantly booze, in readiness for our voyage (next stop Bali in approx. 8 days’ time).

Lande was assisting in the galley while the rest of us waited, and waited while surrounded by many gigantic container ships and were entertained by the Singapore air force who were doing manoeuvres while Romy, Lande, Jim, Neil and Anna did their assisted climbs.

After a delicious dinner we were back on watch at 8pm and other than dodging other ships and one panicking pilot on another ship who, in a high pitched whelp cried “what are you doing” (not to us) which speaks of the congestion in the passage we were sailing; and we then handed over at midnight where our location was approximately where we had set off from that morning but the other side of Sentosa island! We then fell into our beds for a good night’s sleep.

Wednesday 11th we awoke to sails having been set and once everyone was up and breakfasted we set the topsails with all hands. Then it was a second evacuation drill to ensure everyone knows what to do in an emergency.

Before we sign off join us again tomorrow to hear what happened at the crossing the Equator ceremony where the uninitiated pollywoggles pay homage to King Neptune and his wife.
