LN902 17/08/2016 – Despite adverse winds Lord Nelson makes good progress towards the “channel”. A day of engines and fore and aft sails but finally we got an “angle” on the wind and for a while were under almost full canvas until again, the wind petered out. Everybody is in good spirits with little sign of the first night’s “Mal de mer”, and whenever a “bing-bong” comes over the tannoy asking for volunteers to brace the yards or hand the sails the decks are soon full of willing “heavers”. More dolphins and a whale spotted today. Forever hopeful that the “fair winds” will arrive tomorrow and bring the ship alive doing what she was made to do. Sail!
