We travelled across the Moray Firth and then through the Pentland Firth, weather was fair. Arriving at Scapa Flow at 10.00 we carried out a wreath laying ceremony and a minute’s silence to remember HMS Vanguard and HMS Royal Oak.
We proceded to go alongside at Stromness where some of the voyage crew were interviewed by BBC Radio. After lunch we went ashore to enjoy the delights of the town.

Following assisted climbs in the morning (well done Sue & David) we left Stromness at 12.00, and passed the Old Man of Hoy as we started motoring against the wind along the north coast of Scotland. We’ve seen dolphins and seals, weather sunny but sea is starting to get choppy.
We’re learning knots and splicing, the competition for the best splice to be judged by the Captain.
