I have so many fond memories sailing around Antigua. From swimming off the ship in deserted coves to enabling everyone including even the most disabled of crew to feel free and float in the warm Caribbean Sea. From catching fresh fish for dinner to getting a couple of wheelchair users dancing on the tables in the Mad Mongoose Beach bar.

BBQs, sundowners and music on the deck looking out over crystal clear waters at anchor – what more do you need. The late night laughs and conversations putting the world to rights and impromptu musical evenings in the ship’s bar.

Most of all, watching people gain in confidence as they master different aspects of being on the ship is what tops it for me. Seeing crew of all ages and abilities helming the ship and people gaining courage to climb the rigging.

Overall the best thing about the JST is that no one is a passenger – we bring everyone together into one big family when they are on the ship with us.

It does what it says on the tin, it changes lives. I know this because it changed mine.
