8th June 2022. Tenacious – Day 3 blog with Forward Starboard Watch.
Finally set sail! Sailing off the anchorage to Alderney, expected arrival Friday afternoon. Watch leader Peter assisted by Mike, Luke, Terry, James, Caroline & Sue. Sail training has included wheelchair evacuation, hoisting sails, climbing the rigging and out onto the yards.
Highlights so far: Luke – climbing the yards, James – helming the ship, Terry – the epic experience to be helming a ship is unbelievable, especially in a wheelchair. Mike – looking forward to the panto at the end of the week. Sue – meeting lots of interesting people and lots of laughs. Caroline still on mess duty! Next watch at midnight to 4am, we better get some sleep!
