The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) is delighted to announce a pioneering collaboration with
The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and The Gustavia Yacht Club, with the objective
of providing transformative adventures to people facing challenges in the UK and
countries across The Mediterranean region.

In 2020, the partners will collectively deliver a unique and exciting programme of
international voyages that will bring together The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation’s
charitable interests in the UK, Monaco, Greece and Cyprus. Across a five month period,
the shared objective is to provide at least 320 beneficiaries with the adventure of a
lifetime, building their life skills, character, confidence and employability. The
partnership has been fuelled by a shared commitment to people facing challenges in
their life, whether because of disability, mental health, cultural isolation, social mobility
or economic circumstance.

Whilst in Cyprus, the partners also plan to build on The Stelios Philanthropic
Foundation’s important community building work on the island by bringing together
Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots as crew members on the same around the island
adventure. The objective is to build a positive shared experience between the
participants and, in doing so, build empathy and mutual understanding across cultural
divides.

The programme will include visits to the Greek Islands, coinciding with Orthodox
Easter and the Posidonia International Shipping Festival respectively, and stops in
Monaco and the Islands of Malta and Palma. Throughout, the partners will be working
with charitable partners from each country to help identify and recruit individuals who
will most benefit from this life enhancing experience.

”Disability should not act as a barrier to those seeking the adventure of life at sea with
all its potential for exciting self-improvement. And I am very pleased to be working
with the JST so that as many as possible can share in the rewards that these
experiences can bring to beneficiaries from our supported causes in the UK, Greece
and Cyprus.” Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Chairman of The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation
and Commodore of The Gustavia Yacht Club.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation to
deliver such a pioneering voyage programme across the Mediterranean. It has been
nearly a decade since one of our vessels has spent an extended period in the region
and we hope to use this partnership as a platform to undertake more regular
programmes of work with the communities we visit. Sir Stelios has already
demonstrated an outstanding philanthropic commitment to the beneficiary groups we
serve and our missions are well aligned. We are really looking forward to building local
charity partner relationships that can help maximise the impact of our plans.” Patrick Fleming, CEO Jubilee Sailing Trust
