A service of thanksgiving for the life of former Jubilee Sailing Trust long term supporter, director and trustee John Danvers Power took place at Holy Trinity Church, Cowes, Isle of Wight.

John, who died on February 4, 2020 was a great supporter of JST and enjoyed many voyages on both Lord Nelson and Tenacious. A talented businessman, musician, yachtsman and dedicated family man, he was greatly involved in many aspects of island life.

A packed church, heard eulogies from his sons Matthew and Richard and his brother Kit and the Reverend Andrew Poppe with readings from family members.

JST CEO Patrick Fleming attended the service.

“John was a tremendous supporter of all that JST did and stood for. He devoted time and energy as both a director and trustee. We are deeply grateful to him and his late wife Caroline for all they did to support us in so many ways. It was a great pleasure to see his life celebrated in such a special way.” said Patrick.

A plaque of dedication celebrating the lives of John and Caroline is on the wall of Holy Trinity Church.
