We know many from our community are keen to support the JST during this difficult time – what an amazing bunch you are.
Here are a mixture of ideas that the team have put together.
Some of these ideas are about raising awareness of our work in local communities, while others are ways you can raise funds if you feel you are able to. Some of the tips below are simply about keeping in touch with JST friends and with us. All of the ideas are about keeping the JST spirit alive and well while we’re not sailing.
You may have some ideas of your own too – we’d love to hear from you. Let us know at marketing@jst.org.uk.

Learn a new skill – you learn how to tie knots when you’re on a JST voyage, but might forget afterwards. Why not learn this skill at home? Our permanent crew will be very impressed on your next voyage. Here’s some handy videos to show you the way. Let us know how you get on.
Get back in touch with your JST friends – feel like a while since you’ve been in touch? Now more than ever is the time to check in on old friends – virtually of course. If you’re on Facebook, join ‘JST Sailing Forum’ or ‘JST Sailing Friends’ – it’s great for getting in touch with old friends from voyages.
Feel the love – and write a review for the JST on Trip Advisor / Facebook / Google. It all helps keep us front of mind while others plan their next holiday (which quite frankly will be necessary while we’re all at home….)
Get moving – did you know that if you walked or pushed yourself round the deck of Tenacious it would be over 100 metres? Why not set yourself a challenge to walk, push or run the deck of Tenacious a certain amount of times every day. We’re set to launch an exciting challenge in the coming weeks – watch this space.
Sign up to JST e-news – every few weeks, we’ll send you updates, stories and ideas for how to support us. It’s packed with ideas and inspiring content. Email marketing@jst.org.uk to receive your regular update.
Caring cuppa – instead of your regular takeaway coffee or drink at the pub, why not put your saved pennies aside? It could go towards your next voyage. For those who commute, you could do the same with the money you’re saving from your travels.
Contact a local branch – we have 27 branches up and down the country… they are busy planning future local events and would love to hear from new interested members.
Sign up to our social media pages – we’ll be seeking ways to get the community sharing photos, memories, stories, perfect voyage routes and so on. Don’t miss out. Follow @JubileeSailingTrust on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Pledge to do an event for the JST – and raise awareness of our work. We’d love you to let us know what you intend to do, so we can give you a shout out on social media. Email fundraising@jst.org.uk.
Share our stories – we have amazing stories of those who benefit from our voyages and we need your help in sharing these, so more people get to hear about the JST experience. Just take a look at these stories here and share away – on social media, whatsapp or by emailing your friends, encouraging them to follow us too. It all helps shine the spotlight on our work.
Give while you shop – just by shopping at Amazon Smile, Easy Fundraising, Give as you Live and The Giving Machine we receive funds whenever you shop. Once you’ve got it set up, there is literally nothing to do (apart from your usual shop of course).
Sign a gift aid form – did you know that if you sign a gift aid form and you are a UK Tax payer then we can receive an extra 25p for every £1 you donate! You can download a form here : Gift Aid
Take part in the JST Lottery – did you know we run a lottery? Play the JST Lottery and you’ll be in with the chance of winning £400 and supporting our life-changing work.
Let us know at marketing@jst.org.uk how you’re getting on and if you have any further ideas of your own too. We’d love to hear from you.
