31/07/15 – 02/08/15 TNS446
Friday 31st July 2015
We were anchored in West Lepe last night in the Western Solent and had a great evening of games and chat and a meal on deck. A beautiful trip back to Southampton through the Needles this morning with the gangway lowered just in time for all trains and flights home. It is Toms birthday today and Marianne has just passed her oral exams so a celebratory meal of takeaway Thai Curry to give Hammy a well-deserved break from cooking (although she has been busy stocking up for the next trip!) Office crew, ship crew, and their better halves, met up for a meal on deck in the evening sunshine, beautiful young Elizabeth slept through it all!
Saturday 1st August 2015
TNS446 on board today, we left Southampton early evening and Anchored off St. Helens. Great to see so many new faces, and to catch up with old friends.
Sunday 2nd August
Busy, busy, busy on Tenacious day 2. We were off before breakfast on the engines and as soon as we were fed and batteries charged bracing practice. First time for real will be in the dark tonight so the whole crew had a practice while we could see what we were doing. Quick smoko, then all hands getting us under sail, wind increased mid-morning as predicted so now we are under way at 5/6knots. AP watch from 12.30 to 16.00 now bowling along looking for obstructions in any shape and querying a sighting of a mermaid. Blue sky, blue sea, and a good wind blowing us where we want to go. What could be better? Our plan is to sail through the night and arrive in St Malo tomorrow morning. Looking forward to that, not many of us have been there before!
