Left Saint Malo through the tidal lock, which was filled to capacity with a small flotilla of craft, ranging from motor vessels to a tiny dinghy. It is rumoured that Capt. Barbara has never seen the lock so full. And First Mate Ali had to manage her disappointment at not being able to leave port with her good-looking pilot – this would have been a small compensation for being argued with by a grumpy French line-catcher… Mon Dieu! Sailed out to sea and into the blue … setting sail quite soon after leaving Saint Malo. Voyage crew put all their learned skill to use and got us under sail very quickly. A busy day ahead, with no relief from Fee and happy hour….but, hey, who said it was going to be a holiday!
