After spending a good time on Coiba, we moved across the Canal de Rancheria to the Isla Rancheria. This was a picturesque island with one dilapidated building, a couple of gardeners and lots of coconut trees. Some of us sunbathed and collected shells, whilst others went for a snorkel. There was a wide variety of colourful fish, including parrotfish and pufferfish. We even discovered crocodile tracks on the beach that indicated that we had a rather large reptile keeping us company. Even though we all tried hard to spot it, he remained invisible, but as this meant that everyone kept their fingers, no one minded too much! After lunch at anchor – we finally had chips – we headed off to the other side of Coiba to the Ensenada Hermosa bay where we plan to anchor for the night.
