Yesterday we had 2 full watches – warm heavy rain fell most of our 8am to 12:30, & our 8pm to midnight was marked by darkness so thick the occasional star breaking through was almost a point of celebration.
Today we awoke at The Cocos Island & after a briefing from the Rangers who protect the island all the voyage crew went ashore using the ship’s small boats. We landed in a small cove & spent our day exploring the rain forest, steep hills & waterfalls. Much swimming & fun in the warm sea was had, especially when the rain fell heavily & the waves got bigger.
The permanent crew were great as it took numerous trips to deliver & return us all. All made it back for dinner tired, but very happy.
