Day 4 – A day in the life of Aft Port
We were all up early at 4am this morning for our first watch at sea. Lots to learn about taking the log, helming, taking bearings and lookout duties. Eagle eyed crew member James spotted two Porpoises’, although he doubted whether he was imagining things from the effects of sleep deprivation!
After watch we all headed down for a hearty cooked breakfast ready for a climb up the yards. We had a little free time in the afternoon and many took the chance to take a nap before ‘Happy Hour’ scrubbing the decks. Our watch are off duty all night tonight so time to catch up on beer drinking and last contact with friends and relatives before we all turn our phones off as we sail away from civilisation!
