Before we went to bed for the final stretch of our voyage, a presentation was done by some of the crew who work for Spearhead. They are an agricultural organisation who have brought 10 people from 5 different countries on the voyage. This includes farms in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and the UK. We arrived in La Palma at 12:00 this morning. However it was not a straight forward journey from the island of Gomera as the wind kept playing tricks on us during the night. As we left Gomera the wind kept dropping and heading us to port until eventually the boat was making its way back to Gomera. So to everyone’s dismay the final part of our journey had to be carried out under engine. Once we moored in the port of Santa Cruz de la Palma a number of the voyage crew took up the challenge of climbing up the ships main mast all the way to the top! To finish off the trip everyone will go ashore tonight for the final dinner. I’m sure a beer or two is also on the cards!
