Oh wow! Our wildlife encounters cannot bear comparison with the robust dynamism of the workers on the ship and their immense output today. Casting our guilt aside, we must record the enchantment of the our big adventures in one of the world’s largest mangrove wetland nature reserves aka floating forest of Costa Rica . Our landing in Drake Bay where he first came in 1579 …. ooh gosh interepid footsteps… we were eager to explore all the wildlife of the wetlands and Sierpe River, home to dozens of species of birds, monkeys, snakes, reptiles and crab eating racoons. What was extremely fascinating was that we went from the mighty Pacific itself to broad deep wide mouth rivers and then up to mangrove lined streams where wildlife flourished, with sightings of spider, howler and carpucin monkeys, boa snake, iguana, macaws, crabs and racoons that feast on them. We didn’t see any sloths because our lucky charm cook Ali wasn’t with us as she was baking and slaving in the hot galley cooking gorgeous delicious delights for everybody. We have been very fortunate in having Eric as a guide with his first class academic qualifications and a dedicated naturalist to the core who understands what Costa Rica has to offer the world, so his enthusiasm puts sparks into all of us. Well, to bed, and tomorrow offers more adventure, following the splendid win by Forward Port watch in the quiz the night before last…
