All on board for the safety brief at 09.00, lines cast 09.28, we head east as far as the old wreck site of the Mary Rose off the entrance to Portsmouth with Ryde to our starboard, on the Isle of Wight. Both lower topsails and the outer jib are set before lunch. A former Captain, Richard Carpenter celebrates his 74 birthday with a sail today, a surprise present from his daughters, and climbing the mast with them this morning, and we have a birthday cake at afternoon smoko covered in icing yachts! However there are not so many yachts out at sea today as Cowes racing has been cancelled due to the light airs. Back to Southampton west docks tonight. Nik from our last Voyage to St. Marlo is still on board, now a host for the day sails with JST!
