Hello everybody, it’s been a good start to our voyage today. After spending last night anchored in the Solent, we set sails shortly after lunch time today and started on our way to Cherbourg in France.

Everyone got involved with pulling ropes, and Tom, who is blind, was particularly enthusiastic to jump in as close to the front as possible every time.

The voyage crew are socialising and getting on extremely well so far, with a lot of fun and laughter on watches and training sessions.

The crossing conditions have been really calm today with a slight breeze to carry us on wind power for a few hours earlier, but tonight the wind has dropped and we have to run on engines again.

The pilot is expected at 11am on Wednesday, so we are looking forward to lunch in Cherbourg.
