Almost clear skies and plenty of sun made for fantastic bathing and relaxing conditions yesterday, but regrettably little wind for sailing. Regardless, we hoisted the upper and lower topsails to catch what there was, with the help of a few heroics from the bosun’s mates, and sailed gently west.
We learned to climb, and this morning the crew with wheelchairs accomplished impressive assisted climbs up the foremast!
We are now docked at Cherbourg (this author manned the helm on the way in, which was terrific fun) and are looking forward to exploring the town.
