Sailing from anchorage off the IoW on a calm sea with light wind we had a smooth night passage. Waking to the sight of France approaching. Soon the Pilot boat came to meet us and we made our way into Cherbourg; not to a commercial birth, way out of town, rather a birth right next to a busy street. Lots of members of the public watching from the bridge, swung out of the way. We did assisted climbs after mooring with several people making big achievements.
Lunch taken on deck as the sun came out before most of the crew going into Cherbourg to explore the delights of the town.
